The Importance of Maintaining Law and Order

Having a strong and supportive community where people genuinely feel safe is the fundamental foundation of a truly free society. Businesses, both large and small, do not flourish in an atmosphere where individuals are hesitant to leave the comfort of their own homes.

Additionally, consumer spending is also significantly curtailed due to the constant fear of loss and potential consequences. An economy simply cannot thrive in an environment filled with uncertainty and persistent fear. This is precisely why we must collectively support law enforcement by providing them with the necessary respect, comprehensive training, and sufficient resources to effectively perform their duties.

It typically takes between 2 to 3 years for a law enforcement trainee to develop the necessary skills and experience to patrol the streets with a sense of confidence and competence. Police officers are frequently placed in highly stressful situations, where they must depend on their rigorous training to respond appropriately and effectively.

The Criminal Justice Reform movement, which may have initially been driven by good intentions, has ultimately resulted in a negative and demoralizing impact on police officers in general. Recent reversals of the controversial “Defund the Police” movement have been promising and is a positive sign for many in the law enforcement community.

Nonetheless, the reality of early retirements and the past reductions in applications for employment in police departments will inevitably affect our ongoing ability to ensure the safety and security of our communities.

As your candidate for Congress, I want to assure you that I will consistently do my part to support our law enforcement officers, who are crucial in providing us all with a secure and safe community where we can live and work productively.
