Community and Affordable Housing

Current affordable housing policy often leads to long-term reliance on tax-subsidized housing, perpetuating a cycle of dependency. Leveraging her nonprofit and affordable housing experience and her background in the private market, Anna plans to introduce a Community Housing Initiative. This initiative aims to foster collaboration between the public and private sectors to offer affordable housing solutions that are sustainable and efficient.

In contrast to the government's approach of purchasing hotels, which can isolate individuals and incur high costs for taxpayers, the Community Housing Initiative will promote the construction of housing complexes featuring shared facilities like kitchens, interconnected living spaces, and communal areas. The goal is to provide an interim step to eventual home ownership or permanent market-rate housing.

The community Housing Initiative can be expandable to incorporate social service agencies or nonprofits to be housed all in one location. In this manner, transition from homelessness to eventual permanent market-rate housing can be achieved to maximize the efficiency of taxpayer dollars.
